New Blog and Writing Series Are Coming

I’m so excited to write this blog. Over the past 2 years, I have been blogging mostly about writing tips, and, when a news item hits me, my personal thoughts on that, but I am changing things up a bit.

My writing tips were just that, tips. I am creating a video series for the serious writer, the curious writer and/or those who just want to see my face (always something for everybody). It will be a series of 3 - 30 minute videos detailing specifics of a topic. The first series is entitled: Characters: What to do with them. While the main characters are easy to place and give them things to do in a story, sometimes the other characters are written and forgotten about. This series will explore how to write other characters in and have your readers care about them too. I am setting the videos up where they will play in succession. Second will start after the first and so on. They can be watched on your time and you will have 3 weeks before the series ends. The cost is $35. I am hoping to start the first series August 15th with each series starting on the 15th of each month. More information will be forthcoming.

If there is a topic you would like more details about, please let me know. I would love to make a series if it will help in your writing goals.

Something occurred to me a week before I turned sixty (which was in June). I spent my 50’s grieving. Throughout the decade, I suffered many losses (starting with my mother one month after I turned 50) and went through a DNA discovery that I’m still reeling from. It is my hope that my blog series: A Decade of Grief: My Journey of Healing and Self-Discovery will help someone else in their complex grief. “Bereavement overload” or “cumulative grief” is when a loss happens on top of another loss that hasn’t been grieved. Now, I am used to curve balls, but geez. It won’t be as grim as it sounds, those who know me, know there will be some humor in this blog as well. I think one of the best gifts God gave me is my sense of humor.

I hope you will sign up for either this series or one of the many that follows OR send someone my way who needs a boost with their writing ideas.

And I hope you continue to follow this blog on grief and healing.

I appreciate you all.

Until next time…
