I am so excited to bring you Timely Talents. Why a website? To answer that, I'll have to give you a little history.
Many years ago, especially after my first CD came out, I played a various coffee houses and Border's Bookstores every weekend for a least 10 years, along with private concerts and accepting invitations to play at church events, Relay for Life, Miss Wheelchair pageant of Illinois and an Alzheimer's vigil. For the most part, I was able to sell my CDs in person. Well, coffee houses started closing and Border's eventually closed as well and my venues to display my talents and make a few bucks dwindled. I am not tech savvy at all, so my daughter designed this site and will manage it as well. Thank you Jessica!!
Besides my music, I wrote a book called Eliza Jane. Of course, shortly after the release, book stores started to close like Walden Books and Borders. I was just running out of in person places to sell my book. (I started to feel a little bit like a jinx--playing in coffee houses---they start closing. Write a book---book stores start closing. LOL)
Why now? Like I said, my in person venues have dwindled. I am proud of my talents and have worked hard developing them. My songs tell stories and have touched my fans hearts, yes I have fans. My book is a murder mystery. My mom used to say while pointed at my head, "It sure is busy up there."
After working 22 years in the mental health field, I have decided to just focus on my writing and have enrolled in SNHU to obtain a degree in Creative Writing. I believe you should follow your passion, but I learned (a little late) that to do that, sometimes you just have to jump in.
I hope you enjoy this site and stay with me as it grows. And sharing it will always be appreciated.
Peace,
Joyce Ann
